Community Involvement

For over 25 years, the Foundation has recognized the value to Special Needs families of participating in a variety of community events. This participation has fostered life long friendships and support. 

These relationships provide a network for the exchange of information among families.

There is a real opportunity for the Foundation to be a Resource Center for the dissemination of information to families.

Goals

  • Maintain Community Event Calendar

  • Inform local families of planned events 

  • Maintain links page for important resource information for families

  • Offer Health and Wellness information links 

  • Create Family Mentoring Gatherings where young families can meet and exchange information with families who have already raised their children to adult life.

  • Establish relationships with local school district Special Needs Departments

  • Continue developing relationships with San Diego Regional Center management and staff.
