We began in 1998 by forming a Special Olympic softball program to bring young adult special needs members in the City of Poway together.

The roster grew from 12 players to now over 60 athletes in 3 different skill levels.

Over the years, being involved in activities has allowed families and individuals to develop lasting relationships, which has had a tremendous impact on the participants and the local community. In addition, the visibility of the athletes and their families has helped create awareness and friendship among the local citizens and civic officials.

The Foundation's work over many years on various activities and outreach programs with city, community, and business leaders put it in a unique position to be an advocate for education, housing, and other service-based programs for special needs families.
